ResEditFixer is a system extension (aka INIT) which prevents the problems caused because ResEdit leaves opened files in the resource chain. Leaving these files in the resource chain causes really strange things to happen if you open System files that are substantially different than the one with which you booted.If you open a 7.0 System file while running 6.0, you crash;if you open a 6.0 System file while running 7.0, you crash or your menus start to act really weird (especially system menus).
